Why not to use bleach?
Bleach is a very corrosive, hazardous chemical. It is a poisonous, greenish-yellow gas that emits a choking vapor. Bleach causes fabric discoloration and skin irritation. When mixed with other chemicals bleach can produce a toxic gas.
Many people when confronted with mold problems use bleach thinking it will kill the spores. Bleach has zero lasting effects due to the fact it only kills mold on the surface. Chlorine bleach does not penetrate into the substrate. So only the surface is decontaminated and viable mold is still present below the surface. As soon as the bleach evaporated the underlying mold spores begin to multiply once again. Chlorine bleach will never kill the molds roots.
In order for a chemical to effectively get rid of mold it must first kill the mold to the roots. Next it must remove and clean the stain, and last it must put a protective preventive barrier on the treated surface. MOLD*OFF performs all of these steps effectively, while chlorine bleach cannot.
Chlorine bleach when used on mold is a quick fix and will never remove the spores completely. After cleaning it may look as though the entire mold is gone, just wait and it will reproduce and return. MOLD*OFF is specifically designed to prevent this from happening. It not only penetrates the mold, it forms a protective barrier to prevent the mold from returning.
